“I was struggling to train for a 10k run when I was lucky enough to be introduced to Rob through a mutual friend. We talked on the phone as I live in Alberta, Canada and he really took time to understand my goals and where I was with my running. From there he agreed to coach me online with all the support I needed. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE!!! I went from struggling to run 3 minutes straight to running 5K with no walk breaks - something I thought I would never be able to accomplish. He posts my weekly running schedules on the TrainingPeaks program – and we talk to make sure I am happy with the workouts. He is always available via email, text or a quick call. When I have a race, he either phones the night before or the day of the race with our strategy, his encouragement and tells me I will kick butt! His level of coaching is unsurpassable and I am so grateful to have access to him as I would not have accomplished my goals without him. I am proof that you do not have to have a coach right beside you in order to excel at your running. Coach Rob is THE choice for a online coach!”
“Coach Rob has helped me find success in training and racing through his attentive communication, deep understanding and knowledge of running and experience as a runner himself. I have been consistently impressed with his ability to help me meet my goals while balancing my running life with my real-life responsibilities. It is easy to trust him fully with my training as he always knows exactly what I need in terms of pace, volume and focus for any given training cycle. Since I started training with Rob, I have gained self-confidence, discipline, countless new friends and a whole new De Novo family!”

“With a demanding work schedule and being on the road a lot, correspondence coaching was the right option for me. Preparing for a marathon has ups and downs but Coach Rob was the reassuring constant, always available to talk no matter where in the world I was and devising a dynamic training program that fitted to my schedule. Working with the Coach was not only about an average Joe becoming a four hour marathoner but it was a real educational experience about the sport of running and what the human body can achieve.”
“After retiring from competitive running some 15 years ago, stacking up injury after injury chasing PR’s. I contacted Coach Rob in January 2011 to help me give running one more try. He started me off steady, ensuring I avoided injuries that had plagued me years before, while building a solid base. After my first 6 months training with Rob I was able to run 10 miles at a pace I would have been happy with in my late 40’s. I am now thinking about racing again and 7 minute miles don’t seem too distant any more, let me add I’ll be 63 next birthday. Thanks again Coach Rob.”

"I have been running competitively for 8 years now. I have enjoyed success, but never reached the goals I knew I was capable of. Coach Rob helped bring my running to the next level! Once I started working with him I started running the fastest time of my life, taking 15 seconds off my mile time (4:24) and even more off my 3K time (8:49). Not only great at individualizing workouts for each runner, Coach Rob helped improve my confidence with his amazing positivity!"

"Meeting Coach Rob was definitely serendipitous, a fortunate accident. Who knew my running on a rest day would transform my love of running into something much, much more? That one run led to a warm dialogue with Coach Rob which developed into the coach/runner relationship we enjoy today. I’ve learned so much from him & have definitely seen my performance improve. He is always happy to feed my desire for learning the science and answering the “why?” behind my training. Excellent stuff. I am extremely grateful for all he has done/is doing. His dedication and enthusiasm is definitely very contagious. Thank you again, for taking me on this journey. I am enjoying the ride."

“In January of 2013, I decided to train for the Brooklyn Half marathon which was in May. It had been years since I had done any running and was probably in the worst shape of my life. I had no idea where to start so I reached out to Coach Rob for some guidance. Coach Rob and I worked together each week to assure that I was getting in the miles needed to cross the finish line strong. Since I am in NYC, all of our correspondence was either by e-mail or phone. Each week he would check in via e-mail to make sure training was going okay. Schedules for each week arrived promptly every Sunday. If I had any questions or concerns, Coach was always great with answering me back quickly. On May 18, 2013, I finished my first half marathon in 2:15. He literally got me off the couch to running 13.1 miles! I had such a great experience that I have continued working with Coach Rob. I have run 11 races so far and have PR'd in each one. I will be running my 3rd half marathon in May 2014 and will tackle the NYC marathon this November! If that doesn't attest to Rob's ability to motivate and coach effectively (even offsite) I don't know what does!!”

"Coach Rob was instrumental in getting our Special Olympics athlete, Bobby Fredericks, trained and prepared for the Philadelphia Half marathon. His dedication, enthusiasm and knowledge ensured that Bobby reached the starting line prepared to run a strong race. The training had raised Bobby’s level of fitness and confidence in himself, and allowed him to finish the race within his two hour time goal. A true friendship was formed through the training cycle that will certainly last beyond the race.”

“Although I had been running for some time, I really wanted to become a stronger runner and turn my decent race results into something more. Coach Rob put me on a proper training program in line with what I wanted to achieve, explaining everything we were going to do and why we were doing it. Since I started working with him I achieved PR's in every race I ran over multiple distances. I have become a stronger runner than I ever imagined I could be. He not only educated and trained me, he has inspired me to be the best that I could be. I look forward to my continued journey in running with Rob as my coach. He is the best!”

“I've only been working with Coach Rob for a little over a month and in that short time I have gone from a "run/walk/run" method to running only. I have already set two PRs and noticed my times starting to get faster. Coach's methods are easy to follow and he is always willing to work with my hectic schedule. If these are the results I have gotten in one month I can only imagine what the future holds.”

“From the start of training together, Coach Rob was full of positive motivation and excellent suggestions. Whenever I started to doubt myself, he encouraged me to keep going, gave me pointers on how to overcome this issue, and helped me get myself over that 'hump'. He has been a constant source of inspiration during training. He is personable, knowledgeable, and has a terrific sense of humor, to boot. I never thought I would ever say that I love to run. But, I really do! Coach Rob helped me to realize that. I couldn't have asked for a better Coach and, because of him - and the work that HE knew I could do before I knew I could do it.”
